Former FOX 4 anchor and reporter Amy Wegmann will return to co-anchor FOX 4 Rising alongside Miriam Zamorano.
The 10-year FOX 4 veteran previously has served in positions of reporter, weekend anchor, FOX 4 Rising co-anchor, main news anchor alongside Patrick Nolan, and most recently has filled in as free-lance host on FOX 4 Morning Blend.
Wegmann will officially return to FOX 4 Wednesday and will settle in to the co-anchor position the week of July 7.
"We are extremely excited to have Amy return to FOX 4. We believe she will add an additional energy and create a unique chemistry with Miriam, Jamie (Kagol), Angela (Melvin) and Julian
(Glover)," said FOX 4 Vice President and General Manager Charlie Henrich in a prepared statement issued Tuesday by FOX 4. "Amy is a hometown girl from Cape Coral and has always been well received in our Southwest Florida communities."
"It's like returning home to family," Wegmann said in the statement. "I couldn't be more excited to be back on a newscast that I helped build back in its infancy."
