Island Towers Resort Manager Toni Hill knows good customer service is worth its weight in gold in regards to the tourism factor on Fort Myers Beach and considers herself "lucky" to work where she does.
Hill is the February recipient of the Hospitality Heroes Award, an award that the Greater Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Island Sand Paper have partnered in to honor hospitality industry front-line employees from restaurants, accommodations, retail shops or other tourism industry service providers on or near Fort Myers Beach in the months of February, March, April and May.
Hill, who has been employed at Island Towers for four years, received a check for $500.
"I'm probably one of the luckiest people because I get to come to the Beach to work every day," she said. "I have a great staff, a lot of nice friends, great management company and a great board of directors. And, where else can you go to work and watch a dolphin show every day?"
The Fort Myers resident was nominated by JR Shaw, marketing director at RAL Resort Property Management, a company she has been with for five years.
On the nomination form, Shaw stated: "Toni Hill is our front desk resort manager that does everything that is asked of her and then goes above and beyond what is called of her position. Since becoming the resort's official front desk resort manager a few years back, Toni has worked tirelessly to make the resort a place that people want to come back to and stay year after year. She is a tremendous asset to both the Island Towers Resort Association of Owners as well as the management team of RAL Resort Property Management, Inc. She is also a very kind and caring individual that we at the resort and at RAL Resorts are grateful to have on our team each and every day!"
Nominations for the Hospitality Heroes Award will be accepted from business owners or managers and close the final day of each month. Pick up forms on the Beach Chamber website at www.fortmyersbeach,org .
