To the editor:
I am a long-time resident of Fort Myers Beach. I even remember when it was a nice little town, before it became a city, and they ruined everything. I have been here 43 years. I live at the south end of the island in a two-story house on stilts.
I have never had a problem with the planes. The problem is the people that live in the high rises. They are the complainers.
I have written to Bob Ball and the Beach commissioners a few years back to voice my opinon about this matter.
Maybe the answer is to close Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), then people can go to Miami, Sarasota or Tampa to catch a plane.
