Checkout Survey

If you participated in the checkout survey in the past 90 days, thank you. The results for 7/10/13 to 10/10/13 show this:

I'd find the library would be even better if...

(35% said) more books were added, (30%) more DVDs were added, (10%) more community room classes were added, (10%) more computers were added, (8%) more time with staff was possible, and finally (7%) more magazines/newspapers were added.

Do you rely on staff to assist you or did you find everything on your own?

(38%) on my own, (34%) on staff, and finally (28%) that utilize both.

How far was your trip to the library?

(79%) on the Beach, (21%) off the beach.

Human Resilience

The library's reading program with a twist, "Human Resilience: A Community Story," is in full swing and will continue until November 25. Everyone is invited to participate and will earn a chance to win a Kindle Fire HD. It is easy to get started. First, choose a book to read from the program's reading list. These books have been selected because their characters exhibit resilience in tough times. Then share your thoughts in a short video or audio interview (your choice) at the library and reflect on your own resilience in tough circumstances. Your story will be weaved together with other stories into a community movie presentation at the end of the program. Visit the library's web site or come to the library to pick up a program guide and reading list. Kids ages 5-12 are encouraged to participate in the kid's version of the program, "Kids of Courage."

Android

If you are an experienced Android tablet or phone user and would enjoy sharing your appreciation and what you've learned about the Android with others, talk to Marsha on staff or call her at 765-8162. We offer monthly classes that offer insights into using the iPad/iPhone more actively and with ease and would like to compliment that with separate sessions devoted to the Android.

Cafe'

The Cafe in the Library Commons on the third floor is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Meet friends and share a bite.

Cellphones

Thank for keeping the library an atmosphere enabling many to concentrate in a quieter atmosphere. If it's necessary to take or make a cellphone call, do so in the Library Commons on the third floor or go outside.

Please set the cellphone to silence as you enter the library.

Evening Hours

We return to evening hours on Mondat, Nov. 28 and on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Library is open until 7:30 p.m. both evenings.

Library Hours

When we are closed, the hours of operation are included in a recording when you call in. Stop by on Monday & Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.; on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9 and 5, and on Saturday between 9 and 1. We look forward to seeing you.
