Karaoke will take on a whole new twist aboard the Indian Princess' authentic double-deck paddleboat Sunday, Oct. 7, from 3 to 6 p.m. Crooners and spectators can enjoy a fun-filled musical contest aboard the 60-foot Princess launching from Fort Myers Beach.
Karaoke with Jim will lead the contest on the first deck's Princess Room, as the boat cruises Estero Bay. Admission is free and prizes will be given to the best singers and crowd favorites.
"We have been looking for fun events to hold on board the Indian Princess that the entire community can enjoy," said Deborah Carlson, operations liaison for the boat. "We are looking forward to adding more events, including a Halloween Party at the end of the month."
The Indian Princess is air-conditioned and includes restrooms, a sound system and a state-of-the-art 48-inch flatscreen TV, capable of monitoring several areas of the boat and waterway. On the exterior top deck, guests can enjoy spectacular views of the back bays.
Boarding for the afternoon event will begin at 2:30 p.m. Capacity will be limited to 85 people. Reservations can be made by calling 765-8919. Refreshments, including a full bar with top-shelf liquor, beer and wines, soda, juice, coffee, tea and bottled water, will be available for purchase. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be available.
