You can "splash" for $7 during the final two weekends of the Sun Splash Family Waterpark season.
Sun Splash Family Waterpark is offering a special admission price of $7 per person (plus tax) this weekend, Saturday, Sept. 22, and Sunday, Sept. 23, and Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29 and 30.
Usual admission is Cape residents $14.95, non-Cape $17.95.
This is a last chance this year to enjoy the Lazy River, the slides, and all the water park fun. No special coupons are required, however, park capacity is limited.
"Come early, as we have a 1,650-person capacity and we are expecting that many," said Waterpark Manager Sandra Greiner. "We did that (capacity) the last two years. This is our thank you to the community for coming out all year. To me, families are already back in school and this is a quick escape for them for the weekend."
She also noted the charitable work the park has done over the year, including the recent Oma's Heart Duck Race.
"We do give back to the community that supports us," she said.
She also expects the gift shop to be busy.
"We will also be giving 20 percent off in the gift shop. The main No. 1 seller is our anniversary 20-year souvenir mug. It sports a new logo 20th Anniversary logo we had redesigned just for this year."
The regular daily parking fee will apply. Park hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekends only, through Sept. 30 (weather permitting). The park is at 400 Santa Barbara Blvd. For more info, visit SunSplashWaterpark.com.
The park will reopen sometime in March of 2013. Officials still are still firming up the date.
