Tropical Storm Isaac passed by Southwest Florida without making too much of an impact on Fort Myers Beach. Bands of rain continue along the seven-mile stretch, but the storm remains 150 miles offshore and moving WNW at 14 MPH.
There was a mandatory evacuation issued on the Beach but that has been lifted. There is currently no traffic on Matanzas Bridge as the sun rises.
The 5 a.m. weather advisory recorded winds at 65 MPH and 75 MPH gusts though rain patterns have been moving out of the area at a 40 MPH clip. There is a tornado watch all day in Southwest Florida.
