Here is a simple idea to help with crosswalk awareness. Rumble strips before each crosswalk will make drivers aware that they are approaching an area that needs attention. Turnpikes and construction zones use them to alert drivers to slow down and pay attention.
When was the last time you heard of an accident at a tollbooth? This solution must work or they would not be used. A couple of bumps in the road could save a lot of lives. Think about it.
