To the editor:
Great front page news item on our Mound House. However, I must point out an error on your part. You wrote "Mound House, a historic building that sits on an ancient Calusa Indian burial mound, etc., etc."
The Calusa Indians did not bury the dead in or on the same site as where they lived. They would transport the dead to an uninhabited island and bury them in sand.
Perhaps you could write Mound House, a historic building that sits on an ancient Calusa Indian shell mound.
