Organizers at Parrot Key Caribbean Grill (2500 Main St.) have been keeping motorheads, car-lovers and engine enthusiasts very busy through season, hosting multiple car shows each and every month. But, as we come close to another hot summer, there are only so many remaining until the next season picks up. So, be sure to get your car-fix in soon!

The award-winning establishment has been happy to host a Classic Car Show on the first Monday of every month (featuring anything from hot rods and rat rods to Chevys and Model Ts); a Corvette Show on the third Monday of every month (Corvettes from every year imaginable); and some specialty shows sprinkled in here and there like European Car Shows and Classic Truck Shows.

Each and every month, as more and more people hear of the hot-roddin' fun, the shows get bigger and better.

"Our car shows have been bigger and better this year for sure but March's Caribbean Cruise-In was the biggest show we have ever had so far, with 105 cars and about 1,500 people in attendance," said Glee Ann Agius, Salty Sams' marketing director.

"We've had the largest shows I've ever seen during this last month in the 11 years I've organized shows," said car-show coordinator and Corvette enthusiast. "We've had really great turnouts, and encourage car lovers and enthusiasts to continue coming down. The line-up is always changing."

During every Parrot Key car show event, DJ Frank Torino mixes and mingles with the crowd, offering some great tunes that are perfect for viewing hot rubber and sexy metal.

"Frank is the perfect fit for our car shows," Glee Ann said. "He is energetic and fun and the people really enjoy him."

Another great inclusion with these bi-monthly events, for all of the car-lovers who actually enter their vehicle(s) in the show which is completely free they have a chance to win some fabulous prizes, both during the "People's Choice" vote, and through several great raffles.

"Prizes are given out to the winners in each category," Glee Ann said. "There are tickets for the Key West Express and the Pirate Cruise, as well as great gift cards for Parrot Key and Big Game.

So, whether you're there to browse, show, or a little of both, it's a big WIN any way you look at it. Car shows are held at Parrot Key the first and third Monday of every month through June, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. There is no charge to enter or show your vehicle. For more information, call Parrot Key at 463-3257.
