Col. Walter Littleton Carter, 82, of Fort Myers, Fla., who served in WWII?and Korea with the U.S. Marine Corps, recently passed in his Fort Myers home after a longtime battle with cancer.

He leaves behind his daughter, Patricia Ann of Unisex European Hair; his granddaughter, Antonette Marino; son, Anthony Colavolpe; and his dog, Kasha.

He was an over-50-year member of the American Legion, Shriner's Club and Masons, Moose Lodge and VFW.

A memorial service for Col. Carter will be held at the Moose Lodge No. 964, 19090 San Carlos Blvd., Sunday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m., with a military honors and full 21-gun military salute.
