The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau is pleased to announce that Lee County collected a record-high $24.2 million in bed tax during the fiscal year that ended in September (October 2010 September 2011).
With nearly 50,000 Lee County residents employed in tourism, and the more than $2.4 billion economic impact tourism has within the county, the VCB's countywide destination marketing approach continues to be successful.
"This milestone illustrates the VCB's strategic marketing achievements," said VCB Executive Director Tamara Pigott. "Our approach and commitment to promoting the entire destination continues to benefit the residents of Lee County."
The VCB's mission continues to focus on growing tourism for the benefit of the entire county.
