FORT MYERS, FL. Gulf Coast Town Center, Lee Memorial Health System Foundation and The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida are delighted to announce the addition of "Pirate's Cove", a new play area to Gulf Coast Town Center. The new play area sponsored by Lee Memorial Health System and The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida will celebrate with a festive Grand Opening event on Saturday, October 29th, 2011, from 11 am to 2 pm.
Grand opening festivities include a story time on stage told by pirates from Salty Sam's Marina, live music, face painting, a balloon artist, a pirate photo station, an arts and crafts area, a treasure hunt, refreshments, health screenings, and a ribbon cutting ceremony at Noon. Kids are invited to come dressed as a pirate, mermaid or Halloween costume of their choice and join in the costume parade that will conclude the event. Pirate treasure bags will be given out to the first one hundred kids in attendance. Mall wide trick or treating will be designated from 4 6 pm.

The 2,000 square-foot play area is located in market Plaza, near Ron Jon Surf Shop and Bar Louie. The new play area entitled "Pirate's Cove", features underwater and pirate themed structures in the shapes of an octopus, a large pirate ship and treasure chest, perfect for climbing and playing. The interactive play area inspires fun, exciting, educational, healthy and safe play for children. All elements featured are sturdy and child friendly. The play area is situated on a large, ocean colored floor appropriate for crawling, climbing, and playing. In addition to acting as an entertainment spot for kids, the play area will provide an oasis of parents where then can relax and watch the action from benches strategically placed around the perimeter, covered by bright yellow large shade sails.
