Get ready to put with one hand and drink with another, as Fort Myers Beach's first annual Putt-n-Pub Crawl sweeps the sand Saturday, Jan. 15.
Set up as a fund-raiser for the Bay Oaks Recreational Campus, nine participating pubs will each have a putt-putt hole assigned at their location Saturday The Beached Whale (1249 Estero Blvd.), Yucatan Beach Stand (250 Old San Carlos Blvd.), Smokin' Oyster Brewery (340 Old San Carlos Blvd.), Matanzas Inn (415 Crescent St.), The Surf Club (1167 Estero Blvd.), Gulfshore Grill/The Cottage (1270 Estero Blvd.), The Mermaid Lounge and Liquors (1204 Estero Blvd.), Beach Pierside Grill (1000 Estero Blvd.) and Nemo's on the Beach (1154 Estero Blvd.).
Teams of four will battle it out at each of the nine holes, bringing their scorecard to the Yucatan Beach Stand for tallying, and the winners will each get some great prizes.
"All proceeds from the Putt-n-Pub crawl will go directly to the Bay Oaks Rec Center," said Stephen DeAngelis, general manager of the Yucatan Beach Stand. "Once you bring your scorecard to the Yucatan, we'll have a buffet dinner set up for you, along with entertainment by Elijah, and drink specials going on all day at the participating pubs."
The cost to participate is $100 per four-person team. You can sign up earlyby calling Tom or Bobbi, or the day of the event at the Yucatan. Prizes are awarded for best score, along with 50/50s and raffles throughout the many participating pubs.
