The Fort Myers Beach Art Association has adjusted the times for its annual summer camp taking place toward the end of June to ensure all children have a chance to dabble in art during their summer vacation.
A fun week for children ages 6 to 13 in a real working gallery, learning and making art, will be offered Monday to Friday, June 21 to 25 at the Fort Myers Beach Art Association gallery on Donora Street.
The class will now take place from 1 to 4 p.m. each day and will be taught by three artists/teachers with many years of experience working with children, along with special guest appearances by local artists.
The artistic summer camp is open for children in the first to seventh grades, and the groups will be divided according to age, to ensure every child will have a chance to show their talent.
The cost is $40 for the five half-days, which includes supplies, and the art teachers said they are offering flexibility in time for those who may not be able to attend the standard class.
To register for classes, send name, age, address and telephone number, along with a check for $40 to: Fort Myers Beach Art Association, P.O. Box 2359, Fort Myers Beach, FL 33932.
The gallery is on Donora Street at the blinking light off of Estero Boulevard. Hours are Wednesday and Thursday, from 9 a.m. to noon.
