Marine (and everything else) yard sale Sunday

May 13, 2010
Fort Myers Beach Bulletin, Fort Myers Beach Observer

The next monthly marine (and everything else) yard sale will be taking place Sunday, May 16 at Bonita Bill's Waterfront Cafe, 702 Fisherman's Wharf, from 7 a.m. to noon.

These monthly nautical sales have become a hot commodity for locals and visitors alike whether they're setting up to sell or coming by to buy or barter.

Several companies come in and set up, most local, offering all types of marine services and items, like fishing poles, motors, boats, anchors and GPS systems, not to mention the non-nautical items, like purses, arts and crafts, Avon, and just about something for any interests.

If interested in setting up, the cost is $12 per space, which is the size of a parking spot.

"We don't want to add any hardships on people," said Max Williams of Semmer Electric, "We wanted to offer our neighbors a way to make all ends meet in a great location."

The marine (and everything else) yard sale is held the third Sunday of every month. Check-in is at 6 a.m. and the sale goes from 7 a.m. to noon.

Usually that day, Bonita Bill's offers a drink special to those attending (or selling at) the sale. Be sure to ask your bartender.

For more information or to set up, call Therese at 872-5998 or Max at 826-2107.
